Managed Websites
Is the website really included?
Yes. Every Managed Website plan includes a custom-designed website along with hosting, maintenance, backups, technical support, and monthly update time. A one-time $795 setup fee covers the initial strategy, design system, homepage build, responsive development, configuration, and launch. After six consecutive monthly payments, ownership of the completed website transfers to you.
When does billing begin?
Your first monthly payment begins the project. That first month includes discovery, design, development, and preparation for launch. Your next payment occurs one month later.
What happens if the website isn't live yet?
Most projects move quickly once we have everything we need. Delays caused by missing client content, approvals, or access do not pause billing. If a significant delay is caused by NJ Media Works, we'll address it fairly.
What happens if I cancel before six months?
The remaining unpaid balance of the initial six-month agreement becomes due. Once the financial commitment has been satisfied, website ownership transfers to you.
What does the managed website setup fee cover?
The one-time $795 setup fee covers the work required to create and launch your website: strategy, design direction, the core visual system, homepage development, responsive optimization, technical configuration, and launch preparation. Monthly plan payments cover hosting, maintenance, backups, technical management, included update time, and ongoing support.
What is the setup fee for each managed website plan?
Every Managed Website plan has the same one-time $795 setup fee. Presence is $795 setup plus $99/month, Managed is $795 setup plus $179/month, and Signature is $795 setup plus $299/month.
What happens after the initial six-month agreement?
The website becomes yours and Managed service simply continues month-to-month unless you cancel. Stay because you like having us handle everything—or take the website elsewhere.
Ownership + Handoff
When does website ownership transfer?
After six consecutive monthly payments on a Managed plan. Website-only projects are owned by the client on completion and final payment.
What exactly does ownership include?
Your website files, provided along with a standard handoff if you choose to move elsewhere. Your domain, original content, photography, business data, and third-party accounts are always yours, before and after transfer.
Who owns the domain?
You do. Your domain is always yours, at every stage of the relationship.
Hosting, Security + Maintenance
What's covered by hosting?
Managed plans include managed hosting, SSL, scheduled backups, technical maintenance, mobile optimization, contact functionality, one professional business email address, foundational on-page SEO, and analytics installation.
Is hosting available on a website-only project?
Yes, optionally. Hosting + Care is $79/month and covers managed hosting, SSL, scheduled backups, maintenance, monitoring, and 30 minutes of website updates each month. No additional setup fee applies when the website was built by NJ Media Works. It is genuinely optional—Website-Only projects are purchased outright and can be hosted anywhere you like.
Can NJ Media Works host a website built elsewhere?
Yes, when the website is compatible with the NJ Media Works hosting environment. Hosting + Care is $79/month, and eligible websites built elsewhere require a $295 onboarding and migration fee covering compatibility review, standard website migration, hosting configuration, SSL setup, backup configuration, monitoring setup, and post-migration testing. Compatibility is reviewed before service begins.
What if my existing website requires a complicated migration?
The standard $295 onboarding and migration fee covers one standard compatible website. Complex migrations, platform conversions, repairs, malware cleanup, email migration, or incompatible hosting requirements are reviewed and quoted separately before work begins.
Updates, Revisions + Additional Time
How much monthly update time is included?
Presence includes 30 minutes each month, Managed includes 60 minutes, and Signature includes 90 minutes.
Does unused update time roll over?
Included update time resets each month and does not roll over. Additional approved work is billed at the current hourly rate.
What does additional time cost?
Additional approved design or development time is billed at the current hourly rate.
How many revision rounds are included?
Two consolidated revision rounds are included in the initial website build.
What counts as a revision versus new scope?
A revision refines the content, imagery, and details of the direction already underway. New creative directions, new functionality, or work outside the original scope is new scope, billed at the current hourly rate or quoted separately.
Website-Only Projects
Can I purchase a website or landing page without a monthly plan?
Yes. Website-Only projects are purchased outright. No separate website-build setup fee or monthly service is required. There are three sizes based on how much website you need, with three sizes based on how much website you need. If you only need one focused page, custom landing pages start at $595. Hosting + Care and Managed Landing Page Care are available separately if you would still like NJ Media Works to handle the technical side.
How does a website-only project work?
We design it, build it, and hand you the files—no hosting agreement and no monthly service required. Website-Only builds come in three sizes—Essential from $1,750, Standard from $2,500, and Elevated from $3,250—billed 50% to begin and 50% at completion.
What is the difference between a managed website and a Website-Only build?
A managed website combines custom design and development with ongoing NJ Media Works hosting, maintenance, update time, and technical support. A Website-Only build is purchased outright, starts at $1,750, and does not include ongoing hosting, maintenance, updates, or technical support unless those services are purchased separately.
Custom Landing Pages
What is included in a landing page starting at $595?
The $595 starting price includes one custom, mobile-responsive landing page with up to four content sections, one primary conversion goal, client-provided publication-ready copy, client-provided branding and imagery, standard call-to-action links, foundational on-page SEO, custom-domain connection, two revision rounds, and launch testing.
Are third-party integrations included in the $595 landing-page price?
No. The $595 starting price is for a landing page without third-party integrations. Scheduling tools such as Calendly, custom forms, email-platform connections, payment functionality, automations, advanced conversion tracking, and other integrations are quoted according to scope.
Can my landing page have more than four sections?
Yes. The starting price includes up to four sections. Additional sections can be added and are priced according to the content, layout, and functionality required.
Do you provide landing-page copywriting?
The starting price assumes the client provides publication-ready copy. Copy refinement, complete copywriting, content strategy, and custom graphic creation are available as separately quoted services.
Is landing-page hosting included in the build price?
No. Hosting is not included in the initial landing-page build price. Managed Landing Page Care is available for $49/month with an NJ Media Works landing-page build and includes managed hosting, SSL oversight, deployment management, uptime monitoring, and technical maintenance. Content, design, and functionality changes requested after launch are billed separately at the current hourly rate and always approved before work begins. The build itself includes two revision rounds before launch; the $49/month service begins at or after launch with no additional setup fee.
How do I cancel Managed Landing Page Care?
Cancellation terms are governed by your Service Agreement. Migration to another hosting provider can be quoted separately.
Can you integrate Calendly or another scheduling platform?
Yes. Scheduling integrations can be added to landing pages and websites. Because the setup and testing requirements vary by platform and page structure, third-party scheduling integrations are quoted according to scope.
Creative Studio + Add-Ons
How are Creative Studio projects priced?
Brand + Business Foundation (BUILD) starts at $2,250 and Brand + Presence Refinement (REFINE) starts at $1,250. Add-ons can be attached to a Managed plan or Website-Only project, or commissioned on their own.
Tools, AI + How the Work Gets Made
Do you use AI?
We use modern creative and development tools—including AI—to make the process faster and more efficient. What we don't do is type your industry into a generator and call the result custom design. Every NJ Media Works website is professionally directed and customized around the actual business.
Who actually does the work?
A designer with more than twenty years of experience. No ticket queue, no offshore rotation, no account manager relaying messages. We also keep the client roster small on purpose, so your business never becomes another ticket in a queue.
What We Need From You
What are the client responsibilities?
We'll collect your branding, photography, content, hours, services, reviews, and contact information, plus access to anything we need to launch. Timely content, approvals, and access keep the project moving—delays caused by missing items do not pause billing.
What about email beyond the included address?
One professional business email address is included with Managed plans. Additional mailboxes can be added, but businesses with broader email needs are generally better served by Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
